As a young adult, they backpacked the world for eight years on a shoestring, teaching in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. These travels, though modest, enriched their perspective on religion, philosophy, and humanity. When they returned to the US, they pulled themselves out of homelessness and put themselves through school. This journey inspired their commitment to social justice and advocacy. Through adversity, they learned that our actions today shape the future, and they are dedicated to crafting a better world for all.
